Chuck-E-Cheese serves beer...

Analog

OK, so I thought that it was strictly a kids playground. I was suprised to see the beer on tap... 🙂

Yup. 😛

It's not so bad if you go there during a weekday, but to go on a weekend when all the parties are going on is pure torture.

Ok, funny story about ChuckyCheeses.....

Some friends of mine in highschool went to eat pizza there one day as kinda a goofy thing to do, and got denied at the door becuaes they were only 17 and since they sold beer there had to be an adult with them (which there wasn't) They told me and i was like "ok lets go back" (since i was 18 at the time)...

We get to the door and its the same lady who told my friends they couldnt go in, and she struts up to us and says "hey guys.... Hows it going." To which i said "fine" then she says "im gonna need to see some ID" at this point i laughed at her hardcore and was like "ok" pulled out my license and gave it to her.

She stares at the thing FOREVER, i mean give me a break if i had a fake ID i think there are better places to go than chuckys. Finnaly she hands it back and STAMPED MY HAND. Man that was the stuipidest thing i had ever heard of.

Since im not a clubber or a drinker this was the first and only time i can remember being carded. lame.

hahaha...it's the complete reverse at the Chuck-E-Cheeses by the college I went to. We tried to go in once and we got denied because we weren't accompanied by a child 12 or younger!

And how very odd you must have looked, trying to coax children off the street to come with you.

The ChuckE around here requires a kid to enter. A buddy of mine went last year with his wife and they got denied at the door. "I'm sorry, but you need a kid," they were told. He says, "OK, we'll leave. Just trying to check the place out before I book my sons party. Not a problem that you aren't interested." The manager tried to say something after that, but my friend just walked out. He actually followed them out trying to get them to return.

I think this is also strange. In Nashville four years ago, Shoney's started serving beer at select locations. Who the heck goes to Shoney's and expects to be drinking beer?

I am failing to see how their initial refusal is that out of line. If they wanted to check it out, they should have explicitly asked the CSR or the manager to give them a short tour and show the amenities. Otherwise this seems like a very prudent safety measure.

I can understand if it's a group of teenagers, college students, or people like that. But a middle aged couple seems a bit extreme. I think it should be a judgement call when to enforce. Obviously, there are times it should be in place, but there are times it should be over looked.

Also, the manager wasn't exactly nice about it. There was no "Welcome to Chuck E Cheese. I'm sorry, but we have a policy in place for safety that requires...." First thing out her mouth was a snooty, "You can't come here unless you have a kid." Had the manager been nicer, it probably wouldn't have been a problem. So, I guess it was more of a mangerial problem than policy problem. I can understand the policy, but I think it's a bit strange unless it's a special circumstance (ie. drunk college kids, teenagers looking to steal).

nah, we didn't do that. we just wanted to play some games like air hockey and stuff. Chuck-E-Cheeses is right across the street from campus so we tried there.

Good for Shoney's, I'll have to remember that.

Aww such fond memories. C.E.C had such bad ass pizza. The location nearest me kinda blows though, really small. That's an odd thing to be serving beer at a place for kids though.
