The Tomahawk is likely to see the light of day, according to #2 exec Wolfgang Bernhard, who said we'd know by summer 2003. It's a Viper V-10 based motorcycle, a 500 horsepower engine sitting out in the elements with some wheels beneath it. The price would be at least $250,000, and there would be only a few hundred made. Frankly, we suspect the Tomahawk will be built, due to a huge amount of public interest.

The Dodge Tomahawk can reach 60 miles an hour in about 2.5 seconds, and has a theoretical top speed of nearly 400 mph. Each pair of wheels is separated by a few inches and each wheel has an independent suspension. Bernhard said four wheels were necessary to handle the power from the engine.

My guess it that Jay Leno will buy the first one:D

400mph is insane. Even if it only hits 350, thats nearly half the speed of sound. On a BIKE. Pretty damn cheap for Mach 0.5.

There's no way they'll make it that fast. They'll get sued by the first idiot's family that splatters himself all over the highway. That accident scene would NOT be pretty.

And yeah, Leno will have one easily. I wish I had 1/10th of that mans car collection :)

That seems to me a very sluggish 0-60. I realize you can only accelerate so fast without doing a wheeley, but a great number of bikes now can do it in 3.X seconds and none have anywhere close to this for power. I suppose that the 2.5 is to avoid doing any wheelies...

The bike is a neat showpiece, but terribly unpractical. It would be neat to own one just to drive it around and showoff though. So much power between your legs (course I'm used to that).

What did I tell you about humping those 220V outlets? Oh well, at least it wasn't a howler monkey this time.

That's a lot of R&D money... you know there's not $250K in parts on those things. ;)

I predict someone buying (or stealing) one and disassembling it... then selling instructions on how to build your own for <$100K.

Yeah the most expensive part is the viper engine which can be had for well under $150k and I can't believe that the wheels and rest of the bike are worth more than $150k!

LOL!

Thats one head-turning bike. quick double-check to count the number of wheels!
I'm not sure I'd like to be clinging onto the thing at 400mph, though.

Well I guess you're too stupid to realize that Leno already has a custom bike that is powered by a helicopter turbine engine and has the turning radius of a Winnebago
