Chrysler 300C

Looking to buy a new car within a year or two, anyone have anything to say about Chrysler or the 300C? If you actually own this car I would love to hear your opinion of it!

From what I've heard, it's a really sweet car - it's won a bunch of awards. The 300's have a lot of Mercedes influence/technology in them as a result of the merger.

the SRT-8 isn't supercharged (though it still kicks ass).

300C = 5.7L V8 350hp/350tq i think, has MDS cylinder deactivation

SRT8 = 6.1L V8, 425hp/420tq, no MDS = petal to the metal!!😀😀

yeah, the SRT-8 is pure sex.. my dream car:heart:

brand new 300C is about 35k depending on options, SRT8's are ~42-46k new

I hate them. Why? Because everyone here in socal has one with 22 in chrome rims and think they're ballin' now cause all the rappers are sporting them.

OP, you could always go to a dodge/chrysler dealership and test drive the chargerRT/300C and their SRT8 variants 🙂

Oh yeah I'm definately looking at the SRT8. Just a few questions, Is the interior all leather? and do they have an all black leather interior? it says something about trims, I would ideally want just all black leather. Also the rims that come with it, I'm wondering if I will like them or not, its not that I want bigger, I just want really really shiny, like chrome if possible. I will probably go down this weekend and have a real good look at them.

Then theres the price part. I have to some how sell my parents on the car and the price. I will be paying for it with my own money, but I just know they won't want me buying a 40k car. :frown:

QFT. Please OP, don't put 22's on it... it really makes the car look dumb IMO.

In Hawaii... probably not that easy. But worth a shot! and I'm not in too much of a rush, time to grab every used car paper thingy.

I rented the 300 Touring model with the 3.5L V6 for a week. Overall, good for an American car but I probably wouldn't buy one. The steering is way too light and the suspension was over-damped and a little jiggly. I rented one earlier in the year and the leather stitching was coming apart on the passengers seat (so quality concerns me.) Granted, it would be a much more compelling car with the Hemi.

what i hate worse than uber large wheels are the mesh grills.. they totally destroy the look IMO

Agree on both counts, the 20s look perfect, never thought I'd ever have 20s on my car but the 300c just... so perfect. Just maybe not enough meat on those rims for me. Im never changing that grill, it makes the whole car imo.

Good luck with that😕 Not a very practical first car for a young person, I'm assuming your a male under 25. For a new SRT8 your probably looking at 650/mo car payment and more than that for insurance, maybe 800? It will definately be way over $1000/mo for payment and ins.

I know you don't want to hear it, but buy a reliable cheap used car that gets good mileage and requires only liability ins. And save your money for something more important like rent or down payment on a house.

Yeah I just hit 25 this year. And I am well aware of all that, and its all true. I agree 100% but still... I want a nice car!😎 Lets hope that in a year or two I will be able to justify buying this lovely car.

edit: oh, except its not my first car, first one was a pos mazda b2000 truck, then 2001 volvo s40(50/50 with parents). I am definately going to get a new car within a year or two because no way am I going to shell out money to fix the volvo once its starts breaking down. It could easily last another 5 years but gotta get rid of it before it starts breaking down.

even so, it's still the best car in its segment IMO. a comparable BMW 5 or Audi A6 is gonna be WAY more expensive than a 300C or SRT8 (like 10-20k)

a 300C specced out is ~37ish, an SRT8 with all options is 47k

550i most options = 62k

A6 4.2 quattro most options = 62k
