I am sure this has come up before, but I am not finding it. I need to just view RAW photos on my chromebook without having to download them first bc that is a shitload of photos I will then have to delete. It's inefficient.

Is there an app or extension to view RAW photos on Chromebooks without downloading them first?

I don't even need to do any kind of amazing editing, just want to view them.

Otherwise, I guess it's back to my ipad for this.

Eh, just went back to my ipad. Doesn't seem like there's a decent way to do this in chrome.

Thanks! I already tried that. You have to import the photo first. You can't just view the contents of your camera card that I saw. Bc the chromebook file system won't preview it for you, you have to blindly choose.

It's a piss poor oversight imo. Google could fix this.

Otherwise, I do like that app.

i tried 1st gen Samsung chromebook. it took about 8 seconds to open a 5megapixel jpg from a p+s camera. while an old pc opened in about 2 seconds. that was the last time i've tried a chromebook for viewing photos from cam. cant imagine how horrible raw would be! not sure how latest generation of chromebook can handle jpg or raw

the only thing i use the chromebook for is surfing, youtube, and emails.
