Chrome resetting my default search engine

On the omnibox search thing (or whatever it's called), Chrome always changes the default search engine to Yahoo! search everytime I shut down and restart my computer.

I usually hibernate and Chrome is fine whenever I close and reopen it, but the moment I shut the computer down and turn it on again and open Chrome, it reverts back to Yahoo!

I've deleted the search engine but it keeps coming back. I thought Chrome wanted us to use Google lol

Btw: I'm on the latest version of Chrome, just checked.

I ran into this same problem a while back, and it ended up being some crapware installed by utorrent, if I'm remembering correctly. A google search for:

chrome yahoo search hijack utorrent

should get you on the right track.

I don't really want to install a new cleaner software so could I just try running a scan and clean with Malwarebytes and TuneUp?
