Does anyone have a appropriate inexpensive source to have the bumpers etc. rechromed?

A guy at a local (SF)body shop said they solely did a rear bumper for a 230 SL for $230 cost to customer.

My practice is that if you just mention it is for a MBZ at any store that does chrome plating it require expense $400 minimum.

There must be a shop that can just rechrome a piece of steel regardless of what it is from at a unexcessive price.

Sorry for the venting, but it chrome is chrome!

Anyone have any Ideas?
Thanks

Hmm.. new form of forum spam? ask a question about where to find something cheap... then come back later advertising your own place?

do you want the bumper rechromed or do you want it restored?

be wary of cheap shops that will just strip it and dip it, saving you money on one ugly-ass wavy bumper.

assuming we're talking about classic cars.
