Chrome loads first page slowly

Anyone else dealt with this? Any ideas why? Its always the startup page which is google.co.uk, after that loads everything else is quick, it is only when i start google chrome.

I have googled this and all i find are those google forum type things which are basically full of "i have this problem too" posts 🙁

Tried all that jazz, still slow loading the first page. IE10 is extremely fast by comparison, i would actually switch to it if the UI wasent so crap.

Never mind, fixed it.

Unchecking that box does it. What other consequences this has i do not know though 😕

Shouldn't have any consequences at all if you're not behind a proxy server.
