I plan to overclock Duran 600 with the MB, I have a Golden Orb for Celeron.

1. Can Golen Orb be safely used on o/c Duran?
2. Anyone use Chrom Orb with the MB?
3. How about Super Chrom Orb?

where can I buy the Chrom Orb assuming it works?

Definitely not. The twisting motion of the locking mechanism can crack the core and render it useless. I can't answer your other questions.

don't use the chrome orb. the core only makes contact with the edge of the heatsink and the heatsink cannot be turned around because of the capacitors next to the cpu

that's bull....., the chrome orb is not that bad of a HSF. I have it on a KT-7 (the smaller KT-7 size) and my temps never go over 44c. Will it fit on your MB? can't say for sure but the smaller KT-7 version should fit. The orb also makes fine contact with a Duron (right dead smack in the middle), it's got a flat base like everything else.

I might not chance the golden orb, it has a tough clip, but jonnyguru has done it & says it'll work. Most of these "T-bird/Durons are so fragile" post are from retards who can't/shouldn't be assembling their own systems. Check JonnyGuru and read the "Socket A Mishaps" at the bottom of the page - Me? I agree with him 100%

Thought I should add something constuctive, my choices for socket a HSF -

1. Alpha - costly
2. Taisol - cheap and effective, hard(er) to intall
3. Chrome orb - fast, easy, and effective (decent, no better)
