I don't think he's excellent, but he's definately a good actor. Just for reference, a couple actors that I consider excellent are Sean Penn and Johnny Depp.

I see him as a less-talented De Niro...his range isn't "great", as we expect them to play certain roles, but no matter what, they do a great job in those roles.

I don't think enough ATOTers have seen "Deer Hunter", either.

Isn't he going to run for president in 2008? I saw that on the news last week....

I would totally vote for him. Imagine having him for a president. ;)

He's waaaaaay overrated, he only plays one part: the somewhat crazy / dysfunctional tough guy. I think this is how he normally acts, and people just take it as skill.

He had nothing to do with that in Wedding Crashers. I think he acts well when he's playing a funny role as well.

Well this is rare, but i think drugs made him famous, cuz he acts like a doper, and is famous for it. He is a great actor though, for the parts he gets.

He was good in Deer Hunter. Anyone remember Communion? Creepy flick.

Saw him recently in Man on Fire, and he was okay but had some REAL cheesy lines...

(talking about Creasy) "...well, he's about to paint his masterpeice."

I enjoy his roles and how he makes even small parts memorable (voted excellent). Examples:
True Romance (scene with Dennis Hopper)
Pulp Fiction
Catch Me If You Can
