This really really sucks for her son, they are still grieving the loss of their father now this crap.

this must be taking a horrible toll on their son who is only 12 (13 now?) years old. losing his father was one thing -- dealing with his father's paralysis was another thing. now his mother is suffering as well. poor kid.
