Who do you like better as a director?

Nolan: The Prestige, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar
Fincher: Seven, Fight Club, Zodiac, The Social Network, Gone Girl

Who cares?....Both.

Why do you have to choose one?

It's like asking a parent which kid do you love more?

Oh, and both have fanboys who can't see passed the ultimate Batman revenge plot to avenge their father "have you lose your money and then suck your dick".

So, Batman, the guy who took to the streets of Gotham because his parents were murdered, decides to quit being Batman because his GF dies. That is literally the most unBatman thing one can do.

Honestly, if Nolan didn't make The Dark Knight Rises I'd probably like his other movies more. Though, Interstellar having an incredibly stupid ending isn't lending a lot to him.

Oh, I we can't forget Fincher's Gone Girl taking literally all the suspense (did Affleck kill his wife, will he get away with it) completely removed from the movie. Instead, they added a bunch of terrible scenes plopped in.

We can't forget that even in Fincher's good movies, there are some pretty ridiculous leaps / plot holes. So, Kevin's Spacey character spends years meticulously planning and carrying out his 7 deadly sins only to inject a rookie he doesn't know with the crucial point: to become wrath. In the limited time of interaction he had with Mills (Pitt's character), how would he be sure this guy was the one? It seems too random for someone as well planning as Spacey was.

I really want to think of something to say bad about the Prestige, but I can't. =(

I have a hard time watching that movie because I only see Wolverine.

but like, ScarJo doesn't get naked, so that sucks.

Fincher by far. The Prestige and Inception were great but Fincher has movies high on my list like Panic Room and The Game.

Memento is also terrific.

Memento is only good the first time you see it. It really loses it's effect after that. It was well done, but the mystery carries it more than anything else and when that is gone, it is kind of just okay.

Nolan is the only person that has wowed me. Especially with the Prestige. Fincher is a great director, quality stuff. But I disagree with his rabbid fanboys that think he is untouchable or some sort of deity.
