SUPERCOMPUTERSIBM replaces Intel

IBM has achieved supercomputer superiority, according to the latest Top500 supercomputer list. IBM's ASCI White replaces Intel's ASCI Red, which was king of the hill for two years. ASCI White takes up two basketball courts in floor space and weighs 106 tons. The $110 million supercomputer is housed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, Calif.
