So I stopped by the local pawn shop today. On their marquee they had "30% off Computers and Music" sale going on. Awesome, two subjects I'm interested in.
I noticed immediately that the computer equipment they had was the same shit that has been sitting there since last time I was in. Now, I live in small town hicksville South Dakota, there's two things they don't have a clue on, one is music equipment and the other is PC stuff.
First thing I noticed. An Ovation 6-string acoustic guitar w/ case EQ, volume, built in tuner. $400 + 30% off. I called my dad as he was looking for that sort of thing. He stopped over and rather enjoyed the guitar. At $280 for a FREAKIN' Ovation, Done deal, X-MAS Present 1 down.
In their computer case was an Asus EEE 701 2g Pink. My wife has wanted this exact machine since the day they came out. Granted 2gb of space isn't much but good enough for her needs. Talked to the lady about other PCs in house and she said they had nobody to appraise the systems worth a damn. We are talking $200 15" LCDs and $150 21" CRTs and a laptop that was 3" think priced at $175.
I did a quick rundown of what they had in stock with what I would be willing to pay for. I gave her my business card and cell phone number for any other appraisal needs. She gave me $30 off the EEE and the 30%, walked out with the Pink 701 for $65. X-Mas Present 2 down.
Awesome.
