OK, so when does the Chrismas season start in Canada? Here in the USA we usually wait until after our Thanksgiving. (Except all the stores started after Halloween this year. D🙂

I've noticed this is really the first year in my life where it seems like thanksgiving has been totally disregarded in favor of thanksgiving. Sure, retailers always liked to start a bit before Thanksgiving, but usually the radio stations wait at least until Black Friday to switch over to their 24/7 Christmas music, and people used to not turn on their Christmas lights until after Thanksgiving. Both of these rules seem to have gone out the window this year though.:\

Yeah they put the tree up at my place a couple of days ago. First thought was that is was too early, but now I kind of like walking by it each day. It's like, getting me all festive and shit.

Christmas? *pshaw*
In Pasadena, they're already setting up the bleachers for the New Year's day Rose Parade

Cat sitting on the register absorbing all the heat. Once warmed up enough it will start tearing into the tree. 😀

This reminds me I need to walk my property and pick which tree to cut this year. I always say I'm going to tag one before the snow hits, but always end up having to snowshoe all over my acreage looking for a tree.

Yeah, Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet! Oh, wait...

😱

Technically it's December but lot of people start after remembrance day. Stores start pretty much right in November. Went to the mall after Halloween once. "It's the most wonderful time of the year" playing on the PA system while I'm waking by skulls, skeletons, pumpkins, witches and other Halloween stuff. Thought it was pretty funny.

Makes more sense for Thanksgiving to be in October though. Thanksgiving kinda goes along with harvest and you arn't going to be harvesting much in November when the ground is frozen and covered by 2 feet of snow. 😛

But wasn't US thanksgiving this weekend? So now you have no excuse. Put up those trees. 😛

Surprisingly she seems to leave it alone. She might tap at ornaments that are hanging low but if I avoid putting some there all she does is go under it and try to pounce on me. Of course that does mess up the blanket lol.

I guess I'm just a scrooge; I haven't had a Christmas tree since I was in college (and even then it wasn't my idea). I remember enjoying decorating them as a kid and it's always great to have the anticipation of all the gifts, but for some reason that didn't stick with me into adulthood. Now the concept of keeping something indoors that is going to drop garbage everywhere and get destroyed by the cat just strikes me as stupid.

Why do people care when other people decorate? So what if he puts them up in October and leaves them till March. Is your life some how impacted by him having a Christmas tree? If a business does it, I'll probably think they are trying to get people to spend more money but it certainly doesn't bother me that they have a tree up.

Actually yes it does impact us which is why stores start selling Christmas stuff in freaking September. They have to make room for it so they get rid of other stuff they should be selling and have Christmas stuff already out. Plus we have to hear Christmas music in October. So yes, it does impact us all in some way by these type of people celebrating too damn early.

One day there will be a 24/7 repeat A Christmas Story channel starting in September. Or maybe a year round Christmas Channel, that shows CSI re-runs.
