Didn’t see a “what did you get” thread yet ... anyone get anything good? I got a nice orbital auto polisher and a very pretty Buck 119

Nice knife, OP. Still made in the US?

I didn't get anything valuable this year. A shirt/pants here and there and a few other items for work. Thought about a new PS5 (been a while for me to play console) but didn't want to pay the mark up price.

I think I'm at a spot where I don't give or receive Christmas presents right now, honestly, it's pretty groovy.

Got a coat and some clothes. We tend to keep christmas simpler gift wise these days, nothing super extravagant. We never really know what to buy each other haha.

As a gift to myself I suppose the lumber I bought to start on my workshop counts. It cost around the same as a PS5 but is actually obtainable. :p Those 2x6x14 joists add up in price... Just to say my garage width is a bit more than 12' so had to go with the 14 footers. I will need to buy more lumber along the way but figured I'd start with the most expensive parts in case prices go back up due to 2nd lockdown. Need to build a wall on one side so I can lay the joists, then I can start insulating.

My wife and I try to buy each other random fun or useful things that we wouldn't normally buy for ourselves. This year I got:

- A wooden music box kit that I built day 1
- 3D printer pen thing
- UV reactive glue/epoxy kit
- gloves with little task lights built in to the fingers
- a book "Experimenting With Babies" to mix my engineering side with my new patenting side
- a drone, which I ruined by talking about buying before Christmas so she let me have it early so I didn't buy it

Nothing good. This was the latest gift I got myself...

It's discount German made hatchet. Fit/finish isn't great due to price, but it's functionally good. I have it sharpened to knife edge, but not shaving sharp. Otherwise, I've picked up a bunch of climbing gear the last couple months.

I gave my girlfriend a Ninja Foodi Smart XL 6-in-1. She gave me a $200 Micro Center gift card.

Wife got the photo off of fb. Friend of mine took it.

The kid gets me these puzzles because he thinks I like them. 3 days and I "might" have 1/3 done. The guy describing it in the paperwork said he got one 20 years ago and deemed it unsolvable....

Mostly new music. I bought my wife an antique silver bracelet she wanted.

My brother bought me a shopping cart thingy since I torqued my back. I was surprised because he is usually a total cheapskate and almost never buys presents. It was unusually thoughtful of him.

Christmas gifts have become few and far between as the years have rolled by unfortunately.

Good news is that my daughter got me an air-fryer which is something I've been wanting for awhile!

*(hopefully a Kaido-approved model?)

Vortex XL (3-quart)

I got one of those a few years back. It's very nicely made, and will likely sit in the current state forever, somewhere between disassembled and solved.
Fortunately I never got another.

I'm sure that you'll continue to think less of your brother when he finally confesses that he bullied a mostly-sightless Canadian bum holding 3 lbs of chicken and a 10lb bag of milk out of his shopping cart, so that your brother could gift it to you.

Not so much a Christmas present but more of a Boxing Day present, I got me an Asus VG27AQ Monitor.

:D

Nice I bought two of the 28" ones last year with my tax return money (not sure if it's that EXACT model but same line). 4k is great, so much more real estate for work and such. Especially coding. Takes a bit of getting used to the text sizes but it's not that bad.

Oh, I'm thinking that it has definite electric conversion potential. Her American Girl dolls will ride in style!

ugh...I thought your daughter was riding around in that thing, tearing up your neighbors' lawns for the last week, pissing everyone off, causing chaos...but stories, really, because only stories matter.

but no, she isn't. because it's a DOLLS CAR. lol. damnit. anyway, nice gift man.

I just had my heart set on a 6 year-old tear-assing her battery-powered way across your neighbor Roger's prized ficuses, only 96 hours ago.

She used to have a kid sized Power Wheels Barbie Jeep, but she outgrew it. She was great at driving it into trash cans :)
