There are apps that don't work fully with all versions of Android. And the latest os update has some problems. Its not a big deal for a tech oriented person, but its more like Windows than it is like Apple's ecosystem, which doesn't have so many versions and devices to deal with.
Name a significant app that doesn't work with modern versions of Android.
In the years I have owned Android devices I can think of all of two cases, Chrome which requires ICS or newer for obvious reasons and the full version of Adobe Flash which was only offered for Froyo or newer and never promoted as being a feature of Eclair.
