...that and utter shock really. I'm just a dude with a lame podcast that's had some luck freelancing--I'm still a gamer at heart and this stuff is still amazing to me. K2 arriving on my doorstep 3 months before it hits the streets is a big deal and I wanted to share.

Thanks man, that really means a lot. It was so much more work and stressful that I thought it would be. When I was approached by Ars and said "yes", man I had no idea what I was getting myself in to, heh.

Also, I'm currently trying to pin things down with Sony PR in regards to what I can cover. The information sent with the advanced copy stated an embargo until 02/02/09. Generally speaking this means not a single word can be said, but I wanted to check in with them and see how flexable that really is--you never know right?

You are allowed to talk about the beta. So anything in the full game that was in the beta is fair game. Like controls, graphics, that kinda stuff.

I am really looking forward to this game. I thought it was coming out the first week of feb but now amazon has it the last week. Dang.

just curious, is yours a full burn? IE it plays on a retail PS3? Or do you have a debug?

This is a complete copy. MP and SP are in although I've only been playing through the SP. I do not have a debug. I've been pecking away at Sony for over 2 years now trying to get one but that's pretty much never going to happen me thinks.

It's not a retail copy--the code is not final. Infact, Sony just sent me a disk with updated code so there are some kinks being worked out.

That embargo cannot come fast enough.
And why? Because I'm sold on the game already, but it's not until the same week as the embargo lifting, that the demo from Gamestop goes live. I just want to play!
But then again, I'm tempted to ignore that and wait till the game is released. But that's basically a full month after the demo goes live, not sure if I can bottle up my excitement for that long.
