In the employment agreement, bonuses are set to x% of your salary, but bonuses are only paid if the company hits all of its performance targets.

Frick, show me where, Here in edmonton you get paid $9/hr for day shift. Oh, and the $1000 bonus...is after 1000 hours at said McDonalds!
 
I have yet to get a bonus in my life that isn't a gift certificate for food, in some shape or form.

Better than nothing, I guess, but it's sort of an insult when the president of the company has a new car every other month and only shows his appreciation to his employees in a record year by giving them a gift certificate for a ham. (Don't work there anymore, but I would stand by this statement even if I was the only person that didn't receive anything.)

I don't live in Grande Prairie, but I know that the Tim Horton's there are advertising the type of bonuses mentioned above on billboards around town. Craziness ...
 
Man. The company I work at sucks big donkey balls. They earn so much money every year yet they give no bonuses to employees other than management.
 
My boss took the department out to lunch today, but told me I wasn't invited 🙁

No joke.

I'm the only contractor at this time in the dept.

Even my co-workers were like "WTF?"

They're still at lunch currently.

Woohoo, my bonus just went up to 5% of my salary this year -- now I can pay off my CC. And I'm pretty sure it will be a 5-6% raise this year on top of it. Life is good for my 2nd year out of college.

he is probably bitter because your hourly rate calculates out to something higher than his salary 🙂
 
My department manager had us brought up to Kitchener / Cambridge (2.5 hour drive) and we had a short meeting, followed by an excellent dinner and "Casino Night" afterwards (fake money). It was fun.

Afterwards we had an auction using the $ we had won at the casino. I had won $1000 (started with $500) playing Hold'Em Poker.

At the auction, I bid on an ice scraper and won it for $10. The rest of the play money is sitting under my little Christmas tree that I set up at my work station. When people from other departments stop by and ask, "Hey! What is that?" and point at / touch the money, I say: "That's my Christmas bonus."

No bonus yet but I did get a 45% raise 😀. Now I'm just gonna use that extra income to pay for surgery on my willie seeing as how all us Indian guys got the short end of the stick. 😉

We get free pizza on Mondays, catered lunch on Wednesdays, and everything in the vending machine is a quarter. We also blow like $1k a month in "happy hour."
