Nice to see the days of having skeletons in your closet are going away. I like this transparant sicial liveswe lead

Does character matter or does it not?

I'm not convinced this incident reflects on her character in any way that might be relevant to her fitness to hold office. The only potential relevance it might have is due to her socially conservative views, and I don't think she's made these a focal point of her campaign. I think she's a laughable candidate and was a terrible choice for her party, but that has nothing to do with her apparent cougar-ism.

The real question is:
Would you hit it?
10-03-christine-o-donnell-delaware.jpg_full_600.jpg

the answer to that is yes. the dude in the story is lame as hell. she was all over him even after the whole "zomg im a virgin by choice" bs spiel. I'd of tore that shit up until she fell asleep then I'd have rolled over and went to bed. Wtf kind of pussy ass non-sense is that?

edit- I'd make her wear the lady bug outfit too.

It's not like this release was orchestrated by the DNC. And if we're talking about low blows, this is far from the lowest (e.g., Bush's "push-polling" SC registered Republicans by asking about John McCain's "illegitimate black child"). For what it's worth I think the O'Donnell story is unseemly and irrelevant, and I would not have published it, but that doesn't make it the product of a left-wing conspiracy.
Holy shit...I'm not advocating an organized DNC conspiracy here...but it's naive to think that the timing of this highly personal smear a week before the elections is merely fortuitous. I'm not that stupid....hope you aren't either.

Hmm...Obama going to Deleware to campaign. Two ways to look at this:

1) They're scared Christine can win
2) Obama will only go to states they think they have locked up so he can claim people support his radical agenda, because if he campaigns for you, you lose. He's the kiss of death.

I'm not sure what you're implying. The source has already said he released this when he did because he wanted to make sure she wasn't elected. In that sense it's plainly politically motivated, but the decision of one individual with no attachment to the DNC. I see no reason to believe it's anything more complicated than that. If Coons was somehow behind this (which there's no evidence of), it will presumably come back to bite him if that fact is made public.

3) He heard about the bet.

Let me be clear as possible...I'm implying that this guy is a scumbag as well as anyone associated with the orchestrated timing and publication of this hit piece. Does that help you?

Everybody, democrat or republican, should be scared that she could win.

Gawker Anonymous Christine O'Donnell Hit Piece Condemned Across Political Spectrum

A piece published by the Internet gossip site Gawker that goes by the byline of "Anonymous" alleging a sordid, sort-of-sexual encounter with Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell has been condemned across the political spectrum.

O'Donnell has made a point of having "Christian conservative values," including chastity. Suspicions that the Gawker piece was bogus were raised not only because the author making the allegations is not named, but also with the revelations that he was paid for his alleged revelations.

The Gawker piece has been roundly condemned not only by the conservative blogosphere, but by groups that ordinarily do not come to the defense of conservative women politicians.

Katrina Trinko of National Review Online notes that NOW found the article beyond the pale:

"'Sexist, misogynist attacks against women have no place in the electoral process, regardless of a particular candidate's political ideology,' said NOW president Terry O'Neill in a statement.

"'NOW repudiates Gawker's decision to run this piece. It operates as public sexual harassment. And like all sexual harassment, it targets not only O'Donnell, but all women contemplating stepping into the public sphere,' O'Neill added. 'NOW/PAC has proudly endorsed women's rights champion Chris Coons, O'Donnell's opponent in the Delaware Senate race, and finds O'Donnell's political positions dangerous for women. That does not mean it's acceptable to use slut-shaming against her, or any woman.'"

NOW has, as far as anyone knows, never before come to the defense of a conservative female politician. This suggests that a line has been crossed that would not be crossed even by the most committed leftist. That fact should convey a little bit of comfort.

The Daily Caller notes that Chris Coons, who opposes Christine O'Donnell in the Delaware Senate race, has also condemned the article.

Allegations that conservative women politicians are engaged in sordid sexual behavior are nothing new. Nikki Haley, the Republican candidate for governor of South Carolina, was accused of having extra martial affairs. Despite that allegation, Haley won the primary and seems poised to win the general election.

It is unknown as of yet what if any effect the Gawker hit piece will have on the Delaware contest. The Daily Caller notes that a poll taken just before the Gawker hit piece was published showed that Christine O'Donnell had cut her deficit from 19 points to just 10. If there is a sudden sympathy vote surge, it may just be enough to carry O'Donnell over the top, making the Delaware Senate race the upset of the 2010 elections.

And put Bush back in office.:awe:

Does character matter or does it not?

Does it? You tell us. If you're going to sit here and say that, because of this incident, that she doesn't have the character for the job, what were you saying about Mr. Clinton?

And for the record Throckmorton, I think O'Donnell is a buffoon. An attractive one though. 😀

Drowning man will catch at straws.

The irony of the far right defending her behaviour while being vehemently against such behaviour is astounding. People don't give a shit that she had a one night stand with some dude, it's the fact that she walks around touting chastity and all the other dogmatic nonsense that irks people.

Without her high horse, there wouldn't be a story.

According to the latest polls this is moving more votes to the O'Donnel column because it's pissing off women. The race could come down to the wire.

Want to take a $200 bet on the election? I would actually be idly entertained by the Tea Party getting such a dim bulb into the US Senate, not that I seriously think she has a snowball's chance in hell.
