Except that the first gospel written didn't have any claims about Jesus being the son of God (let alone God himself), and that the second gospel added the whole Messiah story to make it 'more Jewish'. At least according to one of the librarians of the Vatican, who probably knows a lot less about the original of the Bible than you.
 
Hmm, never heard of the "new" atheists, or that atheism has become more vocal or interfering with anyone's right to worship whatever deity they wish. Our founding fathers were smart indeed to maintain "separation of the church and the state"...

You need to figure out your own faith before you come preaching to us. Right now you are just a shit flinger who enjoys how being religious makes him feel superior. I'd bet you've never sacrificed a thing for your "faith" and if god existed he would laugh when you tried to walk into heaven and kick your ass back out the pearly gates.

The people who are in control of most countries armed forces believe that the end of the world is coming and it is something to look forward to. It's not a huge jump to think that they might rationalize starting WW3 as doing the will of their god by bringing about the end-times. That's a bit worrisome.

We've made it this far with religion though. I don't think it's the worldwide emergency Sam Harris and his peers think it is. Furthermore, I think they're pushing so hard on that point to gain notoriety and sell more books more than anything else.

What you believe is BS to me might not be, and vice versa. Therefore, feel free to call me out on stuff that you believe is BS. As long as you don't resort to personal insults, then I don't mind.

Problem is usually people loses on concept and ideas so resort to argumentum ad hominem.
