Not that I consider this a big deal, but it's rather annoying. I work for a financial company and there is always contemporary Christian music playing in the bathroom. I would think from a liability standpoint a company would want to avoid promoting any religion since matters of race, religion, age, etc. are so sensitive and make people sue-happy.

Anyone else have this or other religious promotions at work?

I've found in the past that when co workers change the radio station in the break room to the religious station, or the god damned easy listening station, and then turn up the volume so everyone on the floor can hear it all I need to do is crank some Iron Maiden in my office and they quickly get the message.

Nah, it's not something that is actually injuring somebody. I used to have a team meeting, and the boss would ask if we would like to pray first. I would politely bow out for 30 seconds and let the sheep do their grazing.

Many a time I have been in the bathroom praying for it to end.

Most often after taco night.

You might be disappointed to know that the majority of music promotes some cause of some kind. What is the content of the lyrics? Is it intolerant through condemnation, or does it mention Jesus and the three wise men? People complain so much about religiously themed anything, as if they could be no more offended by what they take to be an imaginative story.

We have a giant FSM sculpture in my lobby at work. Any dissenters are too fearful of its wrath to publicly contest it.

Yeah, because all people who have religion are sheep...

Do you own the building or pay for the electricity they use to play the music ?
If not , tough luck.

WTF seriously? Did you happen to work at a bible factory? Did the boss own the place? That's the only way I could think he might get away without being fired.

If he ask and doesn't insist on it as part of the job then he did nothing wrong.

If someone decides to get sue-happy.

If I were running a company, I would make the company as secular as possible to avoid litigation by someone with a hair trigger on lawsuits.

And you would be sued. What do you do when a Muslim employee wants breaks to pray ?

If the lyrics aren't offensive, why do you care?
