Christ Closetmaid-type wire shelving is expensive

When I moved into this house, it already had this type of wire shelving in each closet, in the laundry room and in the garage. I was looking to augment the stuff in one of the closets and redo the laundry room shelving (lots of wasted space right now).

Wow. Each 4-foot standard (the part that screws into the wall that you hang the brackets on) is around $7. Each 16" bracket is $5.50. A flimsy wire basket that hooks onto a shelf is $10. A set of 5 sliding baskets is $70.

Maybe I'll just stick with what I have now...
