CHARLESTON, South Carolina (AP) -- Rose Rock, the mother of comedian Chris Rock, claims she was racially discriminated against when she was seated but ignored for a half hour at a Cracker Barrel restaurant along the South Carolina coast.

Rev Al Sharpton has been involved as well, and apparently he will finance the lawsuit.


I've been to Cracker Barrel a few times, and the wait is incredibly long, but I always observed it to be because of the enormous customer volume they have.

And when I have a bad experience at a restaraunt, I just don't go there anymore. Wouldn't that be easier than to get Al Sharpton and sue? :roll:

I've been to two different Olive Gardens and had to walk out because nobody showed up to serve me. I guess Olive Garden doesn't like white people. Hmm, doesn't have the same ring to it. Maybe I can get Jesse Jackson to take up my cause.
 
If I did that every time I was ignored for 30 or more minutes after being seated at restaurants, I'd be the richest man in the world.

What a crock of sh!t.

Right, I've dealt with long waits before. Once or twice, I've even walked out of the restaurant because of it. Problem solved. I don't go back, they lose my business, and I don't ever have to worry about dealing with the restaurant again.

unfortunately this is what society has become. accidentally bump into me on the sidewalk and I'm going to sue you.

anyone see this lady suing over the cop that gave her a ticket for her bumper sticker because now she's got severe emotional distress? give me a break.

Stupid litigations like these give lawyers and the Justice system a bad name. They really need to figure out a way to limit stupid lawsuits. Enact hefty fines to lawsuits that seem to have no merit. Based on the initial hearing.

States with tort reform statutes have started moving toward that, though I don't think it's enforced nearly as much as it should be. These types of frivolous lawsuits always piss me off because it's these that the public associates with us lawyers and the court system.
 
I've sat and waited 40 minutes at a Denny's before with my family... we just got up and left. I don't think a lawsuit ever crossed our minds.
 
that is ridiculous i went to cracker barrel last weekend. I have to wait 30 minutes to get a table and another 30 to get waited on. THe place was a total zoo. This woman should just stfu.
 
This is what I want to know:

How come its ok for an african american to scream racism, but when a caucasian does it, its totally ignored and ridiculed?

As our population becomes more diverse, native, U.S. born caucasians will be part of a minority.
I guess then, there will be a "White History Month" 😕
