What the fuck are you talking about?
You are basing your stance on past Republican nominees, correct?

And then, let's see... hmmm... do you believe there is any possibility the southern states will turn out with the Democrat winning the majority of votes? Florida is the only swing state in the south. The rest are not.
Are you getting your ideas from Rachel Maddow? I don't understand...
North Carolina and Virginia aren't swing states in your opinion?
:hmm:
How about Maryland? It is below the MD line, you know.
Is a diet.

I'm being dead serious here. Assuming this is an intentional strategy and he can pull it off this is really quite brilliant. Make an issue of the weight now, drop 200+ pounds for the 2016 election, and instant win. Inspiration, role model, president. Of course he then gains it all back his first term.
I honestly think Christie has a solid chance minus the weight.
The biggest problem with the G.O.P. is that as a candidate one must pretend to be loony and extreme to appeal to it's base, than promptly do a 180 and pretend to be moderate to appeal to the middle.
Love him or hate him, Christie's weight will be the subject of heavy criticism as a presidential candidate and will make a difference is the minds of some voters which is a price he may not be able to afford in something as high stakes as a presidential election.
He needs to at least himself down to about the size of Newt Gingrich.
FWIW I think 2016 will be Clinton - O'Malley vs Christie - Rubio
As far as Benghazi is concerned, it wasn't an issue getting Obama re-elected in 2008 so I would find it very hard to believe that it will be a big issue 4 years from now.
FWIW, The worst national security/foreign policy disaster in U.S. History happened under Bush's watch and he was labeled a hero and credited for keeping us safe.
That was one of the big problems with romney.
It is possible that clinton will run since she had the softball interviews with obama and 60 minutes. If she does run then Americans will sadly forget about what happened with Benghazi.
As for Christie he does have some good ideas but I think he will have a hard time getting the nomination, he is against the 2nd Amendment and that will be a big issue for many voters.
Rand Paul would be an ideal pick, Even Nikki Haley if here ideas were similar to Rand Paul would be a good pick as well
Way to completely miss the point! Cookie for you!
Do you believe a Republican must be a religious extremist to win North Carolina and Virginia in the presidential election? If not then you agree with my point. Don Vito Corleone was talking about pandering to the extremists, which are commonly thought of as South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Kentucky, Texas, all states that will go Republican no matter what. The neighboring swing states require a centrist on social issues to win.
Religious extremists do not determine the primary winner, as was proven in the last two primaries, nor do they have much weight in the general election.

There's that "little thing" of being against the Civil Rights Act.
He has a 78% approval rating - in a blue state. He was elected - in a blue state.
He's electable. The question is, just how looney do you have to be to appeal to enough of the party to win the primaries? If he says one thing to appeal to the morons, then does a 180 degree switch, that's going to be a huge problem for people trusting him to vote for him.
Oh, and for the sake of comparison, when Romney left office as governor of Mass., his approval rating was 34%.
problem is, Rand Paul hates America.
and everyone hates Rand/Ron Paul.
sad for you.

Lies, Keep trolling
Rand Paul turns 180 degrees and backtracks on his position against the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and you really expect those of us that are not Paulbots to forget that? Get real.
Chris Christie is one of the most interesting GOP figures to come along since at least Reagan. Given the makeup of today's GOP he has absolutely no chance of winning the GOP nomination even if he weighed 160 lbs and was a triathelete.
I don't agree with Christie on much, but I think he was 100% correct on attacking the former White House doctor. She went way overboard and had no business publically opining on his health when she had never examined him. That said, we all know she was pretty much correct-he won't be around in a decade unless he pulls an Al Sharpton/Mike Huckabee, and soon.
