Ok the title has built in humor but Chris did say the following...

The GOP field is so weak and Perry seems to be flaming out so Gov Christie is considering a run
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/09/chris-christie-still-considering-presidential-run/

If he does run it will be interesting if there will be any spin applied on the base to square these positions...

Chris Christie on gay people

CC on Mulims working in high government offices and Sharia law.

Wow. I would give this guy a look if he ran. Not saying I would vote for him but it's nice to see a Republican refusing to cow-tow to the crazies and actually call them crazy.

I've often said if the GOP would make a serious effort to purge themselves of the religious nuts, racists and homophobes, it would go a long way in broadening their tent.

He's a fat douchebag with questionable morals.

But at least he's got a mostly non-creepy personality that isn't totally full of teh crazy or so dumb that you want to pound your head against the wall. In other words he's light years ahead of the other Republican candidates.

Frankly, I hope he stays put here in NJ. He's done a great job the past couple years kicking the status quo in the ass. And if you know anything about Jersey, it's full of corrupt duplicative government that has been run by Dems for decades. There is still work to be done so I prefer he wait until 2016 or never (plus I don't think he can win nationally... a little too liberal of a Republican for my taste as a presidential consideration, particularly on illegal amnesty).

I think Christie is keeping his name out there for a VP spot. IMO he's almost the perfect VP candidate. He can be an attack dog for the nominee without saying stupid insane things like Palin or Backman. I'd also pay money to see him debate Biden as they are both giant assholes but in very different ways.

He would have a good chance of delivering NJ, PA, and OH which would make the election a lock for the Republicans.

I'd vote for him if he'd run five miles in a half hour on flat level ground and did 50 push-up's and 50 sit-ups at 5 min. each at the end of that run.

Or better yet, he should have a REAL race with Obama and have both of them compete in a decathalon. Winner take all.

I don't know why it is, but I always seem to picture Christie in a Soprano's episode scarfing his way through a huge platter of pasta with a red and white checkered napkin tucked under his chin. It just seems that in a setting like that he'd be one very happy camper. ;)

The bombastic fat man isn't going to run to the chagrin of the Republican establishment because they know that what they have now to go up against President Obama is a fricking joke.
I can't wait until Nov 2012.

LMFAO.

American's re-elected GWB into office. With this economy, I wouldn't be too optimistic about Obama's chance. I think they're ok, but its no its definitely no sure thing if the economy is like this next november.

I'd vote for a GOP candidate who didn't suck-up to the religious right. Unfortunately those are pretty hard to find nowadays with the rise of the Teahadists.

Bill Clinton was no slim man and he was far better about fiscal discipline than Bush II or Obama.

Some in the party you embrace voted to impeach him as well

I never claimed he was a Saint in fact he was instrumental in the Financial markets collapse by signing the Republican backed and created legislation to repeal the Glass-Steigall Act.

GWB was in great shape.

I don't see the correlation between physical fitness and ability to be a good president.

This is why we get so many terrible presidents... People have no idea what makes a good one (not saying CC would be good don't really know him). Although, I'm guessing your not serious : p

Sorry I got the wrong impression since 99.99% of all your posts are to the right of Attila the Hun.

Huh? Look at anything that I post about abortion/religion and you'll feel differently.

I'm fairly strongly anti-life (support abortion, the death penalty, legalized euthanasia and letting stupid people fall victim to their own idiocy) which means that on some some issues I support the standard conservative take on things and on others I'm quite liberal. I'm also anti-religion, which means I have a hard time stomaching the modern Republican party.
