Why are Chinese people still using chopsticks? Are they too prideful to use the superior spoon and fork?
I frequently ask why "my people" invented chopsticks to eat rice, but then I realize... noodles. Best for noodles. Beat forks.
They used to use knives and a prong-like thing 2000 years ago. Then they invented chopsticks in the Han dynasty. More hygienic, less barbaric.
Chopsticks are fine for eating most Chinese meal since everything is already chopped to smaller size. I can't imagine using chopsticks to eat a 20oz steak.
+1 but most of us here reside in the land of shovelling salty fatty goods into our breathing hole as fast as possible. 'Merica.Eating Chinese with chopsticks slows down the meal and is just fun, IMHO. If you don't agree then you should eat with whatever utensil floats your boat.
I'm all about people enjoying themselves![]()

Chopsticks are the best; I use them whenever I possibly can.
