Chopping Intel HD 3000 video

I have some small chops playing h264/mkv bluray material, mpc? - (Dell e6420 i5 sb) - driver issue or what? (running very cool hd decoding btw)

Besides the textures in tft2 looks worse to my eye than my former nv 300m, and amd discrete looks far better. Can there be difference on the same settings?

If your using mpc you can click view status and it will show whether its using dxva. If not , its being decoded in software, I believe.

This hd 3000 makes me remember the gfx drivers of the mid nienties 🙂 I thought we were long past that time, and have always thought the talk about drivers have been wildly over rated for the past 10 years.

You might blame me for not reading my stuff before buying this stuff, but i short of asumed it could play h264 29.xxx whatever without errors. This is 2011!

Now for the performance. I dont know if it was anandtech or notebookcheck whatever that stated the performance would be like NV 320M, causing all sorts of confusion all over the web. Overhyped. And then i still have to see comparisons for at htpc on the frontpage to this non htpc capable expensive junk. Delete it.

This is an imature product. And for most users like me, who dont want to spend the majority of ones days playing with drivers, new versions of players, whatever, it does not work in practice.

Man i am to old for this shit, time to pass the job to one of the children.
