Choosing the right case fan

Only for SPU heatsink - nah, it'll work fine as a case fan.

Personally, I'd probably go with a Panaflo or SilenX fan. The stat's on Tt's fans are a bit exaggerated.

Panaflo have a great airflow/noise ratio, while SilenX make even quieter fans (although the move less air).

When it comes to specs both TT and SilenX are both exaggerated. You should also be aware (if your not already) that neither of them actually make fans, they just rebadge and market them. Somehow sticking the TT and SilenX label on them is able to drop the dBA without sacrificing CFM.

Panflos are easy to recommend, you don't really need anymore then an L1A for a case fan.

That heatpipe HD cooler would still need a good airflow going through the case to carry the heat away, and it'll probably work reasonably well with cases that have a mesh frontal facia, such as the CM Centurion, or CM Stacker; furthermore, it will also take away one of your 5.25 drive bay.
