MSI Neo3-FR has treated me well so far. Loves C2D, VERY picky with voltages on C2Q. Ran my C2D over 500FSB so far.

To give a good answer to this question it's helpful to know what features you need/want in a motherboard and what your price range is.

Since I saw you asking for help on your memory selection as well, you might be best served by a post in General Hardware.

Read this sticky to get a handle on current hardware:

And then start a new thread in General Hardware answering the questions in this sticky:

well thanks DSF ur the best i'am kinda of new and we've spoken before it seems u kno a lot. Well u recommended me G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000). And i bought Antec TruePower Trio 550 550W Power Supply, a Saphire HD 4850, a western digital 640gb HD, now i'm just a little confused on wat mother board to get. I'm thinking of getting Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E8200 2.66GHz (45nm) or E8400 3.0ghz. and i wanna be able to over clock the processor, wat motherboard can u recommend from a P45 chipset to get? You could either tell me from asus msi or gigabyte, or one of ur personal. THANK YOU

2. Sapphire HD 4850 512MB PCI-Express Video Card (Bought it already read good reviews on it)

3. G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1000 (PC2 8000) (Thinking of getting)

4. Antec TruePower Trio 550 550W Power Supply (Bought it already good reviews on it)

6.Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive ( good reviews bought it)

7. okay now here is the hard part.....were u guys come in. I'm having EXTREME difficulty choosing a mother board from a p45 mother board chip set. I'm looking into these companies asus, msi, or gigabyte with a FSB 1333mhz.

Please post which motherboard wouldn't fry up during OVER CLOCKING, and wat other ram they would recommend. Also post motherboards and DDR2 RAM which people had success overclocking. THANK YOU ALL especially DSF

This is a really noob questions but any suggestions would help, i wanna setup 2 video cards, so the video card i already have the 4850 supports SLI, wat is the difference between SLI VS GPU, and i would have to get a special motherboard to support them correct?

SLi refers specifically to Nvidia graphics cards. Crossfire is ATI's trademark for the same kind of technology.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about running dual graphics cards unless your monitor is at least 24". For smaller sizes it's not generally worth the expense.

The motherboard chuckm linked you is a great platform at a very nice price.
