Choosing OS Questions

I am ready to start building my first computer. The only thing i need now is an OS. I can't decide between 98SE, XP, and 2000. I will use this machine for gaming (Starcraft Broodwar, Diablo2, Warcraft3, Counter Strike), using the internet, school work, and some other things. I will also be sharing a cable connection with another PC if that makes any difference. I;m really not sure which OS will be best for me.

I am also considering buying my OS on ebay. Prices seem really really cheap and they come Full version still wrapped. Any problems about buying on ebay?
 
Do i have to wait until i have an OS until i can start building the computer? I'm getting anxious, and i might not have an OS for a few days. Could i make a boot disk from this computer (Win98) and use it to start up the machine and aset the BIOS, etc?
 
XP Rocks!! You can start building the computer before you have an OS. Just get the OS when you are done building the PC.
