thnx for all your help and if any one can point me in the direction of a good site that wil give reviews of laptops it would HELP me ALOT
 
I dont know about Packard Bell's reputation in the UK, but it was considered to be one of the worst computer manufacturers in the US (they dont sell computers here anymore). I'd reccommend the Compaq notebook. They are a solid company with solid support.
 
All the links lead me to a page that say

I'd personally get a Dell. I've got a 1Ghz P3, 256MB RAM Latitude C610 and have been v happy with it. It's my work one.
