Choosing DDR3 speed

I found a good link which explains the ddr3 speed in relation to the cpu and mobo, which was exactly what I was looking for:
Link

AMD Overclocking Equation:
(CPU Multi) * (FSB) = (CPU Freq)
(CPU Multi) / (Memory Divider) = (Divisor Ratio)
(CPU Freq) / (Divisor Ratio) = (RAM MHz) (* 2 = DDR MHz)
(NB Multi) * (FSB) = (NB Freq)
(HT Multi) * (FSB) = (HT Freq) **

(CPU Multi) * (FSB) = (CPU Freq)
(CPU Multi) / (Memory Divider) = (Divisor Ratio)
(CPU Freq) / (Divisor Ratio) = (RAM MHz) (* 2 = DDR MHz)
Hmm ...

[CPU Freq] / [Divisor Ratio]
= [(CPU Multi) * (FSB)] / [(CPU Multi) / (Memory Divider)]
= [(CPU Multi) * (FSB) * (Memory Divider)] / [CPU Multi]
= (Memory Divider) * (FSB) = (RAM MHz) (* 2 = DDR MHz)

Makes sense, but some of the text in the link was equally baffling (must be due to semantics).
