Hello, could someone help me choose between two sets of speakers?

http://www.edifier-international.com/products/edifier-studio/r2000t

and

http://www.edifier-international.com/products/edifier-studio/r1900tii

R2000t speakers are stronger and bass is better, but R1900tii has many praising reviews and many forums/online shops have only positive feedback about them. Please help me choose the better ones. Price is not an issue. What's most important is a good sound quality and clearness for music listening and gaming :colbert:

I would choose R2000t as it is more powerful, but R2000tii is a second release, like a revision, which means it's possibly higher quality than R2000t. There's even R1900tiii, but unfortunately unavailable in my country.

I personally would go with the R2000t, not because it has more power, but because the larger driver will probably allow it to play a little lower. I'm sure you will be happy with either of them.

By the way, no matter what you pick, you should still get a sub for ~60Hz and below.

^^ he is right you will be happyer with a 2.1 set up

assuming this is for a computer what im using is a jbl 8in sub (sw135p?) and creative labs Itreage 2 ways for my mids and highs and a ht reciver/amp for now untill i get my plate amp. you may want to consider that

but out of what u posted i would do the 2000t because larger cone is gonna gonna give you more volume (technicaly)

however the 1900tii is also very nice from an sound technicians stand point.
i think you will be happy with either but i say look in to a 2.1 set up like a used logitech z2300 or equivalent

As far as I can tell the OP is living in Lithuania and is going to have a vastly different selection and price structure than us. For example: the Logitech Z623 system over there is 256 more Lithuanian dollars than the R2000T set he linked, almost double the price.

Price is not an issue.
Yep, I would say either the Mackie HR624mk2 or JBL LSR2328P would both work quite well; they have baffle step adjustments so that midbass doesn't sound bloated, especially in a nearfield "cramped" environment.

The price is obviously an issue. In the OP's other thread he was looking for a sub £150 sound card and both speakers he listed are under 300. The JBLs, if available, might be in the price range but the Mackies certainly would not be.

All this is assuming Google translated the currency listed on the site correctly.

OP if you could clarify what currency that Skytech prices are listed in that would be great.

Thank you for your really helpful replies!

I've said "price is not an issue", but I've only meant that the price is not an issue between Edifier's r1900tii and r2000t. I can spend up to 150$ (400 litas). But less is preferred.

The currency on skytech site is in Lithuanian litas and it's 1 US dollar = 2.5 litas.

I prefer a 2.0 setup, because I don't really need sound for parties. Just for loud music listening at most, in a small-medium sized room. My priority #1 is sound quality and clearness. And other than techno/electro/industrial/poprock/other I'm also often listening to jazz, classical, meditational, atmospheric and soundtrack music. That's the only reason why I'm considering r1900tii - because supposedly it's perfect for this kind of music.
I will check all of your suggestions now and check their availability and price in Lithuania.

Are these going on a desk? Close to a wall? Is built-in amplification a requirement?

Either on a desk table on the sides of the display, or alternatively on the ground on both sides of the table if the speakers are too big for the desk (It's a small table and the display covers half of it's width.

Yes, close to a wall. The right speaker will almost touch the wall, then left to it goes display and left from display, the left speaker. Behind the right speaker will be wall, behind the left speaker is a window.

Built-in amplification is not a requirement.

however the 1900tii is also very nice from an sound technicians stand point.

Could you tell me how did you come to this conclusion?

I checked all your suggestions and couldn't find anything sold in Lithuania, except Creatives I-trigue. And even these speakers are currently sold ;x As I've said, the list of all non-professional speakers should be in this list: http://www.skytech.lt/periferija-biuro-iranga-koloneles-c-270_241.html?pagesize=100&grp=1&sort=3a

I have also found a set of Creatives 2.0 speakers. But they are costly and only 14w. Perhaps their sound quality is superb? Would Edifiers r1900tii and r2000t be better choices than this?

P.S. Sorry for three posts, but I think it will be easier to read this way and it's not going to be a chaotic and large thread anyway.

When buying speakers, the order of preference for choosing is:

Take them both home on a trial basis and listen to them.
Find a store that has both in it's listening room. (But you can only "remember" sound for 7-10 seconds, so switching should be instant)
Flip a coin
Listen to each in different stores.
Read reviews in reliable publications.
Read internet reviews.
Ask for suggestions in forum posts.

I already ordered r2000t and r1900tii for listening in one electronics shop. They said they should arrive around this weekend. Perhaps I will be able to decide then. A worker at that shop also suggested Microlab speakers as an alternative.

An alternative

Get some real hifispeaker and a real amp, buy it used. You will have far, far superior sound to the ones there, for the same money.

If you dont have the space, one day you can perhaps afford the audioengine a2/a5. Its different league, same size. :) - good sound last for 15 years easy.

with the type of crossover and speaker types being a textile tweeter and the shielded mid it should sound very good all in all from the reading i did it sounds like a solid speaker the 1900ti

also i have a set of creative older itreages and they sound great paired with my jbl subs for a custom 2.1 set up and they get loud ill link a vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ1God7gp2E

they are loud and clear

Like others. You have to try them out to see if they sound good to YOU. Reviews are great to point. Tho, some people love bright sounding speakers others like the silk dome tweeters for a laid back sound. It's really up to you.

Maybe look at a T-amp... and buy some speakers you like ... Maybe infinity is sold there... Or find a friend in the USA that can ship you gear.

Good Luck!

Still waiting for speakers to come to one shop where I can listen to them all and compare the sound myself. I think that's the best suggestion here.

Still haven't chosen the speakers...
The three choices I'm considering now are:
Genius SP HF2020
Edifier R1900Tii
Edifier R2000T

Any input on which speakers I should consider taking would be appreciated. Unfortunately, all of these speakers have few reviews (please share if you find any good ones!)

It is folly to choose a speaker based on others reviews and recommendations. There are many many variables. Nobody has mentioned any showstoppers (like bad company, garbage speakers that fall apart, etc) so really the only way to tell is to get them into your exact listening environment. It's like choosing a condom based on what other people say...
