Choosing between these 2 ssds

intel 510 120gb
vertex 3 120gb

i know that the vertex 3 stock is not readily available (at least in my country) , and i could get intel one at the moment.

however , the question is : is the vertex3 worth the wait ? Or should i just get on with life and get the intel ?

also , does intel ssds generally have better reliability ? i think their rma support is very impressive to say.

sorry if the questions sound amateurish , my first time buying a ssd.

thanks. 😎

Well based on this review from Anand http://www.anandtech.com/show/4256/the-ocz-vertex-3-review-120gb It would Probably be in your best interest to get the Intel as its available for you now. Here is its review http://www.anandtech.com/show/4202/the-intel-ssd-510-review/2 is right up there with the vertex 3. All preference and I am sure they both would please you in the long run.

So, with that said, I don't know if the Vertex3 is "worth the wait" based on its review. As for reliability, They seem to be but I never owned an SSD until just recently (last 2 Months) C300, vertex 2, Agility 2.

you wont be able to tell the difference, so it really doesn't matter...
I would personally go with the intel drive, I have had nothing but good experiences with intel SSDs... plus I hate OCZ with a fiery passion (if you haven't read up on the OCZ vertex 2 25nm fiasco you should before you make your decision)

By the way , since the differences between SSD and SSD are not much...
then what if I consider Intel 320 120GB/160GB and 510 120GB ?

the Sata 3GB/s and 6GB/s difference is it noticeable in real life applications ?

nope. think of it as going from impulse to warp 7(320), well maybe the G2 is warp 4-5 but honestly anyone at impulse is going to not see anything because FTL is so much faster.

benchmark queens and folks that use consumer ssd for commercial purposes are the ones who probably feel the difference. the write cycles are not up to snuff for that duty cycle which is why if you want to run surveillance video you get a green drive and go to town.
