I think latest Cats support DX11.2.

According to techpowerup, at highest(most demanding) settings in games, 760 is around 7% faster than 270X, stock vs stock. Then there is OCing to be considered and Mantle support.

Looking at current newegg prices, cheapest deal for 760 is 230$ (shipping cost included). Best deal for 270x is 250$(free shipping) with BF4 coupon that is worth around ~50$. Counting everything in I don't see how you can call that a bad deal. Mantle is an added bonus and it's not a gimmick, it really works and will be in major game titles in coming years. Plus AMD cards are crushing Nvidia ones in mining so that is another bonus.

The GTX760 is around 12% faster. And there is still no DX11.2 for AMD cards.

And BF4 is not worth 50$, assuming you even want the game. Its 32$ on Amazon:

And at Ebay you dont even have to pay 20$. They usually sell for 15$

270X is simply terrible performance/$. And there is no rational excuse for trying to push it on others. The MSRP for the 270X is 199$. So the warning lights should be on for anyone even remotely considering it at 250$.

Maybe for you it's terrible. IMO it's not terrible at all. Price gouging is bad indeed but that's a market trend at the moment since AMD cards are in high demand due to bit coin mining craze. Even users of this board don't think it's bad , check the poll results at the top, AMD is leading ;).

AIBs already confirmed its supply shortage rather than high demand. AMDs marketshare also dropped. Less cards sold, not more.

An unbiased poll?

20$ more for less performance. Brilliant. The 270X got an MSRP of 199$ because thats what its worth. To pay 25% more is just plain dumb.

You forget the BF4 coupon? Even if it's 15$ like you claim (I wouldn't buy from amazon though), then you get price parity even when the prices are gouged. Then there is bit coin mining in which it crushes NV (why you ignore this all the time?) and Mantle which is proven technology that is coming in many blockbuster titles. The card just has better feature list, sorry. 7-12% performance difference is just peanuts difference.

The 760 comes with Assassin's Creed IV, which has been lost in the debate about the value of BF4. In fact, many 270X models DO NOT come with BF4, just to be clear.

And honestly, there really shouldn't be a debate about this at all. A $250 270X is a ripoff. I've been running my 7870 at well over 270X speeds for over a year, and paid $200 for it.
