Okay, I was thinking about getting a GeForce 2 MX. I'm torn mainly between the Hercules or ASUS. I'm not concerned too much about the TV out stuff, but more on the quality, and compatibility with Linux as well as Win98. Any suggestions?

Also, what does it mean when the card is sold in a "white box?"

Oh, and thanks in advance!

white box is oem, doesnt come in a nice retail box, no games and junk usually. if you get the herc get the retail has better ram if that matters to you. other than that doesnt matter, probably the herc is better since the retail has faster ram, almost all nvidia cards are just reference design so doesnt really matter.

I thought with the MX's 64-Bit memory bus their is really no performance boost by going to DDR ram.
