Choosing a hardware profile in Millenium Edition

I have 3 profiles defined, but can't seem to get the option of choosing one at bootup. Comments about FDISK or Format with a real OS unnecessary.

did you try setting the hardware profiles screen to halt until you select the profile that you want. If that doesn't work, it sound like something is messed up pretty bad. If I am misreading the question and wasting your time, sorry.

Thank you. I can't seem to find the setting to halt and choose. In Win2000 I can, but not Mill Ed.

If you right click on my computer and select properties, then goto the hardware tab, and click on hardware profiles, does it bring up a window with options to choose how much time to wait, or wait until you choose? Or goto the control panel, select system and go the same way. I will look into it and ge back to you on what I find.

I wonder if Sony altered the OS? (laptop is a VAIO)
