Choosing a Center Channel (from different series/brand) to "match" my Speakers

Right now I have Rocket RS450's and a decent sub. I'd like to move to a 3.1 setup (by adding a center channel).

Ideally I'd go out and get an RSC200 Bigfoot Center from AV123/Rocket, but that won't work in my application due to the dimensions of the center.

So, how could I go about finding a center that will match decently to the speakers I already have while being low profile enough to not get in the way of the TV? What specs do I need to look at to get as close as possible and maintain decent sound quality?

Thanks.

Have you considered all mounting options for getting Bigfoot to work? Some people do a wall mount (designed for small tube TVs) above their display to support it.

You could do a "Wanted" post on the av123 forums for the "Littlefoot". It had a limited production run. Maybe the size of that will fit your space better and still keep you in the same speaker family.

RSC100 AKA Littlefoot is: 20.5"Wx8.25"Tx8.5"D

I believe there are two versions of RSC100.
There is the WTW RSC100
and
There is the WT/MW RSC100 MKII (the preferred version)

This would be a good visual match for the RS450s, but I doubt it would really match sonically.

It might make sense to try to get a different center that uses the Vifa XT25 tweeter (like the Polk LSiC?)

What are the dimensions you have to work with?

Thanks for the tips. I am not exactly sure the space I have. The wall mount won't work due to windows and such (plus wifey probably won't dig that look 🙂 )

I will look into your ideas tho - I think one of those options should work.
