help me to choose the right !!!

My pc is P4 2.4Ghz, 256MB ram, MB is a AGP 8X

I used a Asus GeForce FX 5800 128MB [core 400Mhz/ memory 800Mhz] and now its broken.

I think I have a choice of following , (some prices are higher in our country)
All are Asus,

1 Buy a [$300.] Ge 6800 LE 128MB [core 300/mem 700Mhz] 256 bit ,

2 Buy a [$200 + $60] Ge6600 LE 256MB [300/500mhz ] 128bit + 512MB DDR RAM

3 Buy a [$150 + $120] Ge6600 LE 128MB [300/ 550Mhz] 128bit + 2 X 512MB DDR rams

4 Buy a [$120 + $120] Ge6200 128MB + 2 X 512DDR rams

5. Any other suggestions?

any know how much p-pipes this Ge6800LE (ASUS v9999LE) has?
Is this 6800LE is a far better than my old FX5800? [I have to pay extra $50 of it, is it worth that?]

Hmm... that's kind of tough. Try and get a 6600gt and 512mb if your budget allows. I wouldn't get a 6600LE (do they even make those)?

Can you get a regular 6600? That and a stick of 512MB should be decent enough. Dunno if (and how much) it would be slower than a 5800 though.

Should still be 12 pipes, but with 128MB of the slower 700Mhz RAM rather than 256MB of 1000Mhz RAM. ASUS sold a couple different versions of the 6800 cards. If it has a 256-bit memory interface, it should still be a faster than the 5800, and a LOT faster than the 6600LE.

A vanilla 6600 or a 6600GT wouldn't be a bad choice if you could get one. Not sure what is available for you, though. There's also the RADEON 9700Pro/9800Pro, or an X700/800 variant, if ATI cards are an option.

Of the options you gave, (1) will have the best performance, than probably (3) (although the 6600LE is pretty bad, regardless of memory size).

Yes for first question, I dont know about the second as I havent had an Nvidia card since the GeForce 3 Ti500.

3...

unless u can stretch to a 6600GT + 2x512 ???

EDIT : just noticed the AGP bit.... not sure if this makes a diff or not?? my mate has an AGP 6600GT.... and i swear my PCI-e is better by quite a bit...!!! 🙂
