Ok, so i've been looking deeply into centrino laptops. In fall of 2005, im off to college, and my parents are gonna buy me a laptop. Personally, it would be cool to play some games on it as well as a school work computer. So i've decided this, i want a Centrino Dothan 1.7 Ghz (735), Radeon 9700 128 mb mobility, 1 gb of any kind of pc2700 or better ram, atleast a 4 hour battery life if not more, and a cd-rw/dvd drive.

Here are the websites I have looked into.

http://www.gen-x-pc.com/note_CL56D17W.htm is $1999

http://www.gamepc.com/shop/sys...mily.asp?family=noteb7 is $2054 with the specifications im looking for without xp pro which i want

http://1toppc.com/Merchant2/me...Category_Code=Notebook i dont know the price of specifications i want

http://www.rjtech.com/np3790.htm i dunno price but seems good

http://www.powernotebooks.com/specs/PowerPro/m5-6.php this seems nice

http://www.powernotebooks.com/specs/Sager/3790specs.php also seems nice

Now im looking for the one with my specifcations. I really like long battery life. Give me feedback please

Just a note, unless your traveling out of the country, I don't think a laptop is necessary. Just get a desktop. If you do live out of the country then go with a laptop so its easier to bring home. All my friends who got laptops for college never bring them outside of their dorm room.

if you arent starting school till next year, why bother looking now? Wait till June to start looking then buy in July/August, landscape of notebooks will have completely changed between now and then (pci express, multicore possibly...)
