Im getting a new monitor. Ive decided to get either the viewsonice E90fb or the samsung syncmaster 700 ift. They are both around the same price and can't get go any higher than 232 with shipping. The viewsonic is 19 inch and the samsung is 17 inch. From reading reviews the samsung seems good but i can't find any on the viewsonic, so im not sure how good it is. I want a clear crisp picture, what one will give me a better picture and what one do you guys recommend? I like how the viewsonic is 19 inch but like i said im not sure how good of a monitor it is.

thanks.

I'd go with the 19" It's just so much larger than the 17", great for games..... ViewSonic is a brand you can trust :) Never heard of a bad viewsonic monitor or LCD :)

I'm running a ViewSonic P220f 22" monitor, and it's been great aside from a FEW problems:

- it doesn't display it's maximum rated resolution at the advertised refresh rate...it only does 60Hz when according to ViewSonic it should be doing 75Hz
- there is a somewhat serious geometry error; the screen doesn't line up properly in one corner

It is crisp and clear though, and the colour is amazing.

well couldn't the geometry problems be fixed with adjustments? And besides this is common with flat screens, ive heard this with sony tvs, samsung tvs, monitors etc. Also im not a computer gamer, so i don't need a high resolution, the highest i would ever run is 1024 x 768, and the refresh rate for this setting is 105, the monitor i have is 65, lol, so this is fine, so i think i may go with viewsonic just because its 19inch which will dominate my 15 inch packard bell monitor lol

no, the geometry error cannot be fixed through software or adjustments. the top of the screen is curved, not straight like it should be. i'm contacting viewsonic to have the screen fixed. i would still reccomend viewsonic...my old monitor was a 17" viewsonic and it lasted me 4+ years without problems.

I also have a 14" samsung monitor on the 486slc25 computer upstairs. I'm not sure how old it is, but I'm pretty sure the 486 is 10 years old by now. SO...samsung=reliable. BUT, viewsonic=sweet viewing goodness.
