I went to Cold Stone with the family yesterday after a very filling Father's Day dinner. My wife went in to order while I stayed outside with my daughter. After a few minutes, my wife comes out, hands me my ice cream and says, "They are giving away a free regular if you eat a chocolate covered cricket." They are having some kind of Survivor challenge, and this was challenge #2. So what do I do? I go in, and eat _2_. I don't know why they gave me two, but I ate them anyway. They aren't that bad. Can't really taste them, just a tad crunchy. The only thing, was the insect 'flecks' left over after chewing them up...

So, I got a free ice cream voucher. But it's from Cold Stone! Can't deny that...

doesn't the chocolate kinda negate the health benefits of crickets?

Chitin? I had to look it up... Looks like it has a few uses, but I didn't skim anything about digesting it. It looks like a derivative, chitosan is used in end products.

I'd have done it for something better than ice cream. I just don't like ice cream that much to eat a bug. A free CD, maybe, but not for a dessert.
