Chocolate beer?.. no thanks!.. what's next? Bubble Gum Lager?.. I'll take just plain beer thanks! 😉
Actually, one of the cool things about beer is that you can play around with flavors. I've had chocolate beer, spruce beer, pumpkin beer, various berry beers, etc. All pretty tasty and an interesting change of pace if nothing else. I wouldn't want much of any of them at one sitting, but you gotta love the variety.

I had cherry beer when I was in Belgium along with a Belgian Waffle topped with strawberries and whip cream. Mighty tastey....

the berry/honey/etc. types are ok if you don't have much of them like you said.. still not gonna agree with the chocolate and other off the wall stuff.

I've served Mackeson Triple Stout with vanilla Haagen-Daas as dessert before. Everyone looked at me funny at first, but admitted it was actually quite good once they tried it.

Chocolate is hardly off the wall. A lot of stouts and ales practically have chocolate or coffee undertones just as a result of the way they're made. You really ought to try it before you pan it.

maybe that's why I'm not a big fan of stouts.. only once in a while.

Pepper beer anyone?

Can you just imagine what the next morning would be like after over-indulging on that?

One of my unrealized dreams from a mis-spent youth was trying to discover a way to make beer and ice cream taste good together.

sounds good.

last time I was in NYC, I was at a place called Jeckll (sp?) & Hyde and tried the double chocolate stout. It was very good.
