No idea, but whoever invented chloroform is a GREAT person.

Chlorplasts are little plant cell organelles thats are responsible for photosynthesis in the cells. A good place to look for this info would be around the cell theory chapter.
 
They were invented in 1983, along with the gyroscopter and the needlenoseplier (later refined into needle nose pliers) by Gerhard Schumann.
