CHKDSK every time i start up

The Problem is that CHKDSK runs every time i start up,and sometime it asks while i'm still in windows. It only asks it for one drive ,my d drive, which is a ext. ntfs partion on my second hard drive which is for the swap files, scratch disc, other temp stuff.I have not asked this to be done, the only software i have installed is Diskkeepper 6(the defrag software),i think it has something to do with it because every time it runs a scheduled defrag,it asks to run CHKDSK while still in windows, however, when i try it says the drive is locked. Thanks for any help
