1st, I have a Kingston SATA3 SSD which is said to be backwards compatible only to SATA2 but more or less works on my SATA1 ThinkPad X60. SATA is supposed to be fully backwards compatible, right?
I use the free Toolwiz TimeFreeze for my security needs. It is supposed to work with SSDs. FAQ.
Though strangely, Windows runs a CHKDSK frequently after I reboot (not just put the system into sleep).
The first SSD developed an error (lost partition table, USB boot from flash drive did not work when the SSD was physically in the machine - when I put it out, the machine booted from SSD - ACHI mode)
Now I got my replacement SSD and everything is the same. What is the problem? I don't want to take advantage of Kingston's generosity to replace my SSDs all the time but is it normal?
