Ok! My Computer is an Athlon 1.6, 512 ram running Windows 2000 OS. I was running chkdsk on my G: drive when the power went out. The drive is a WD 160 Gig and is NTFS. Now when I try to access the in drive in windows it says it is corrupt and shows a file size of 0. I had about 60 gigs used so far on the drive. I can't run chkdsk now because it does not see the drive. So, can anyone tell what has happened and is there a way to reverse the effects. Thanks in advance!:frown: Will System Recovery using the windows CD allow me to run chkdsk on the drive?

Possibly; that's certainly the next step I would try.

If you dont have any luck with that than get yourself a decent data recovery application; it should be able to recover most if not all the data off the drive. Than once you've recovered what you need re-format it and go out and buy yourself a UPS ;)
