Chkdisk Problem

Chkdsk refuses to run at startup. I've tried running it in cmd.exe, but it can only scan as read only, and it refuses to run as chkdsk /f because it can't lock the drive, even when nothing is open.

I have tried to run it in safe mode but the same problem of locking the drive comes up again.

I even enabled it to run it the cmd window on startup, didnt work.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Just schedule it to run before windows loads. Right click on the drive from My Computer, PROPERTIES>TOOLS>CHECK NOW and check the box that says "automatically fix errors"...then reboot the PC.

tried it, didn't work

ChkDsk refuses to run at all, even before startup.

As a side note, ChkDsk did find a few errors with indexes, I wonder if thatts the problem...
