Chipset fan on A7V133...

The little fan on the chipset of my A7V133 makes a horrible, horrible grinding noise which seems to stutter. It's really annoying.

I know the fan isn't even really necessary (it wasn't there on the A7V) but is this an actual standard fan size that I could buy a replacement for? What size is it? Also, would I even be able to replace it? It doesn't have the clip mechanism like on a CPU cooler...

As for just unplugging it, would that be better or worse than just removing it altogether? I think there is a mini heatsink type thing under the fan, I dunno if that would serve at least as passive cooling...

Thanks.

I just left mine unplugged but attached. The heatsink has no thermal compound under it so it's not too effective.

Hey man I'm having the same problem a system I build for a friend uses the A7V133, and the board has only been used for 3 months and a few weeks ago the chipset fan started going nuts. it was REALLY loud. we found that if you touch it and give it a little spin it seems to pick back up and run just fine untill you power it off again. so we've been just limping by. but I'm Half tempted to tear it off. I've emailed asus about it once and I've gotten a reply, not really sure who I should contact now.
