msi neo2 platinum- please feel free to reply to any/ all of these.

1. My chipset fan has started to go on the fritz. I get an intermittent "whirrrr" noise that I can make go away if I touch the fan blades or adjust the speed with speed fan. But it comes back after a while. So I need to order a replacement. I've been looking around and passive cooling looks like the way to go. Can someone advise which one to get?

2. I'm also considering taking this opportunity to swap out my 4000+ for a dual core. Obviously price is an issue as this is an aging system. The 4000+ does 2.75 stable but I've found I prefer the stock 2.4 because the temps are so much lower. I'd probably be happy with dual cores at ~2.2 with or without oc'ing. Any suggestions?

3. Now the toughie. Again keeping price in mind, I would like to make the jump to 2gb RAM. I currently have 2x512 of ocz el plat rev 2 which I love due to it's oc'ing potential. Long question short should I just be happy with the 1 gb I have as there really is no economically sound way to go to 2gb?

This upgrade all started with getting the x1950pro agp. The thing flies and got me to thinking about going for a second life for the whole rig. At some price point, however, I know it becomes stupid to do so.

For the chipset go with the Zalman blue fanless chipset cooler. I've had good experiences in nForce 3 boards in the past.

I have the same issue as #1. I'd go with the Zalman, but does anyone know if it would fit on a Gigabyte K8NSNXP-939? The way it is now, the stock heatsink/fan over the chipset is underneath the video card, so it seems like the Zalman would interfere.
